Executive Renovation Project
Jacob K. Javits Convention Center’s vision to improve business and working environments consisted of renovating interior spaces and relocating various departments. di Domenico + Partners’ (dD+P) holistic approach to visioning and programming resulted in an Administration and Operation Master Plan for relocation and unification of departments to help improve efficiencies of common services and workplace environments. The renovations included offices, an open office plan, meeting rooms, in-house shops and office services on Level 1 (23,150 SF); the Executive Administrative Area on Level 2 (37,210 SF); offices and storage areas on Level 3 (7,997 SF); and the reorganization of Level 4 (42,145 SF); along with associated furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
LEVEL 2: Reception / Waiting Area
Areas of the renovation project consisted of the Administrative Entrance, Reception and Waiting area including a custom reception desk and furnishings (above and below).
Renovations to the Administrative Entrance comprised of new flooring (outdated terrazzo to modern large format porcelain tile), state of the art security turnstiles, custom security desk and the opportunity to design custom artwork walls.
Artwork concept paid homage to both New York City and New York State - in particular the capital, Albany. Images are directly printed onto the back of each glass panel and mounted on different depth stand-offs to give the illusion of movement.
